Processing of personal data and purposes of processing
You can access the website www.kognitive-energie-systeme.de/en without having to disclose any information about your identity. The browser used on your end device only automatically sends information to the server of our website (e.g. browser type and version, date and time of access) to enable the website to establish a connection. This also includes the IP address of your requesting end device. This is temporarily stored in a so-called log file and automatically deleted after 4 weeks:
The processing of the IP address is carried out for technical and administrative purposes of connection establishment and stability, to ensure the security and functionality of our website and to be able to pursue any illegal attacks on this if necessary.
The legal basis for the processing of the IP address is Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f DSGVO. Our legitimate interest follows from the aforementioned security interest and the necessity of a trouble-free provision of our website.
From the processing of the IP address and other information in the log file, we cannot draw any direct conclusions about your identity.
In addition, we use cookies and analysis services when you visit our website. You can find more detailed explanations of this in sections 4 and 5 of this data protection declaration.
3. transfer of personal data to third parties
Except in the aforementioned cases (registration for events, use of the ordering service, registration for a newsletter), we only pass on your personal data to third parties if:
- you have given your express consent to this in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. a DSGVO,
- this is necessary according to Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. b DSGVO for the fulfillment of a contract with you,
- in the event that there is a legal obligation for the disclosure pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. c DSGVO.
In particular, if you have registered for an event, it may be necessary to transfer your personal data to an external organizer as part of the performance of the contract. In connection with an event registration, you will be informed who is the organizer and whether this is an external organizer. This organizer will process personal data within the framework of the event and in particular for participant administration.
A transfer of personal data to a third country (outside the EU) or an international organization is excluded.
4. Cookies
We use cookies on our site. These are small files that are automatically created by your browser and stored on your end device (laptop, tablet, smartphone or similar) when you visit our site. Cookies do not cause any damage to your end device, do not contain viruses, Trojans or other malware.
In the cookie, information is stored that arises in each case in connection with the specific end device used. However, this does not mean that we gain direct knowledge of your identity.
We use cookies to statistically record the use of our website and to evaluate it for the purpose of optimizing our offer for you (see section 5). These cookies enable us to automatically recognize that you have already been to our site when you visit it again. These cookies are automatically deleted after a defined period of time.
The data processed by cookies is necessary for the aforementioned purposes to protect our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 (1) p. 1 lit. f DSGVO.
Most browsers accept cookies automatically. However, you can configure your browser so that no cookies are stored on your computer or a notice always appears before a new cookie is created. However, the complete deactivation of cookies may mean that you cannot use all the functions of our website.
5. web analysis using Leadlab
We use the Leadlab service from Wiredminds GmbH and its tracking pixel technology on our website to analyze user behavior and optimize our site based on this. In particular, the service allows us to identify which companies have visited our site. In doing so, we do not receive any information that directly identifies you.
In connection with the use of Leadlab, cookies and tracking pixels are used, which enable a statistical analysis of the use of this website by your visits. Information – including personally identifiable information – about your visitor behavior is stored in the cookie and transmitted to or collected directly by Wiredminds. The information is processed by Wiredminds using a pseudonym in a usage profile for the purpose of analysis and anonymized as far as possible.
The data obtained in this way will not be used to identify you personally without your separately granted consent and the data will not be merged with personal data about you as the bearer of the pseudonym.
Insofar as IP addresses are collected, they are anonymized immediately after collection by deleting the last number block.
Information on data protection at Wireminds can be found on their website.
Data processing is carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 para.1 lit. f DSGVO in optimizing our online offering and our website. Wiredminds processes the data on our behalf and we have concluded an order processing agreement with Wireminds. This ensures that the data processing on our behalf is carried out in accordance with the GDPR and guarantees the protection of the rights of the data subjects.
If you do not want the collection and analysis of your user behavior, then you can object to this by means of an opt-out cookie. An opt-out cookie will be set that prevents the future collection of your data when visiting this website. The opt-out cookie is only valid in this browser and only for our website and is stored on your device. If you delete the cookies in this browser, you must set the opt-out cookie again.
6. Social plugins
We use so-called social media buttons (also social media plugins) on our website. These are small buttons by means of which you can publish content from our website in social networks under your profile.
If you activate such a button, a connection is established between our website and the social network. In addition to the content in question, the operator of the social network receives further information, some of which is personal. This includes, for example, the fact that you are currently visiting our site.
The integration of the social media buttons is carried out using the so-called Shariff solution. This solution, developed by Heise and c’t, prevents a connection to a social network from being established simply because you call up a page with a social media button without activating it. This means that information is only transmitted to the social network when you use the button.
We use the following social media plugins:
a) Facebook: Share Facebook Ireland Limited.
In part, information is transmitted to the parent company Facebook Inc. based in the USA. This company observes the data protection provisions of the “US Privacy Shield” and is registered with the “US Privacy Shield” program of the US Department of Commerce.

We use components (videos) of the company YouTube, LLC 901 Cherry Ave, 94066 San Bruno, CA, USA (hereinafter: “YouTube”), a company of Google Inc, Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (hereinafter: “Google”), on our Internet pages on the basis of consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) p. 1 lit. f DSGVO.
Here, we use the “extended data protection mode” option provided by YouTube.
When you call up a page that has an embedded video, a connection is established to the YouTube servers and the content is displayed on the website by informing your browser.
According to YouTube’s information, in “extended data protection mode” your data – in particular which of our Internet pages you have visited as well as device-specific information including the IP address – is only transmitted to the YouTube server in the USA when you watch the video. By clicking on the video, you consent to this transmission.
If you are logged in to YouTube at the same time, this information will be assigned to your YouTube member account. You can prevent this by logging out of your member account before visiting our website.

If you wish to exercise your right to object, you can do so via:
www.fraunhofer.de/de/fraunhofer-newsletter-abmeldung.html.
10. data security
All data transmitted by you personally will be encrypted using the generally accepted and secure standard TLS (Transport Layer Security). TLS is a secure and proven standard that is also used, for example, in online banking. You can recognize a secure TLS connection, among other things, by the appended s to http (i.e. https://..) in the address bar of your browser or by the lock symbol in the lower area of your browser.
We also use appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction or against unauthorized access by third parties.
